Description

:icondeviantuniverse: is (c) :iconmja42x: and all you lovely people.
Pose assistance from posemaniacs

Edit: Actions... have consequences, Samantha.

Basics:
Name:  Genevieve Badeau
Gender: Female
Species: Human/Deviant
Age: 22 (as of 2017)
Height: 5'0"
Weight: 105 lb
Hair: Green
Eyes: Magenta
Skin Tone: Pale, very faintly blue
Bust: A
Blood Type: AB+ (Universal Recipient)

Powers:
Poisonous Skin - The oils of Genevieve's skin are highly toxic.  Producing a neurotoxin that is capable of being administered topically through skin to skin contact, she can paralyze with a brief touch.  Contact of more than a minute is not only paralyzing but potentially lethal as a concentrated dose can threaten to cause cardiac arrest.  Genevieve is unable to actually reduce or negate this effect, though the oils lose their potency within minutes of leaving her skin and remaining out of contact with a living body.  This makes her clothing generally safe to handle, and also means that her inert poison is almost impossible to detect.

Mechanical Note - Characters with significant healing factors may be either resistant or largely immune to her toxin.  It is painful, but not threatening unless she somehow concentrates the dosage applied in a short period.
Immunity to Poisons/Toxins - Genevieve is immune to almost all poisons and toxins found within the Sol Solar System, including most magically and psychically active poisons.  Her body's liver and kidneys, along with its natural immuno-defenses and gastro-intestinal system are alarmingly efficient at dealing with toxins, making her resistant to most human diseases but basically immune to poison of any variety.  (Yep, poor girl can't even get drunk.)
Regeneration - Her body recovers from harm at an alarming rate.  Like a lizard, she is capable of even regenerating lost limbs (usually over the course of about a week of recovery time).  So long as her heart and brain are intact and connected, her body can eventually recover.  She is capable of regenerating individual gunshots and stab wounds within roughly a minute each (twice as long for wounds to normally critical organs).  Shallow wounds close within seconds.
Superhuman Agility - Genevieve has a preternatural sense of balance and grace.  She is able to twist and flip her body with an ease well beyond that of an olympic gymnast or professional contortionist.  Her natural land speed is approximately 30 mph at its peak (roughly that of a housecat).
Thermographic Vision - She is able to see into the infrared spectrum at a range of about 30', but must concentrate on it to do so.
Unicorn's Horn - Acquired in a fight with another dangerous and highly unpredictable deviant, the horn of an actual unicorn that she carries is basically indestructible and can punch through plate steel like it is butter.  Magical or super-science materials fare considerably better against it.
Skills - An accomplished B&E expert from having been trained by Samantha Grey and others, Adder is an excellent burglar, exfiltration and infiltration agent with knowledge of all modern and some super-science security technology, along with a basic understanding of the study of forensics.  She is well beyond 'casing her brass' when it comes to avoiding forensic detection, and capable of breaking and entering into even government facilities.

Weakness:  Weak Souled - Genevieve is particularly susceptible to psychic attack, and vulnerable to any effect that can alter or damage her spirit, soul or vital energies.  This weakness seems to be tied to her body and mind's relegating so much of her spirit to regenerative faculties just to keep up with her own toxins.  It puts her at severe risk, should someone try to psychically leech her life force or attempt to use psychic or magical domination techniques on her.

Personality:
Genevieve is a deeply disturbed, possessive and jealous woman.  No longer afraid of her inhuman looks, she revels in leaving her poisonous arms exposed and has been known to occasionally dress in two piece bathing suits and other revealing clothes, just for the off chance to expose someone to the toxins that litter her skin, even if only to cause short-term paralysis.  She despises most people, and does not open up to or confide in others, ever.  Preferring to keep her relationships strictly professional, she finds the vast majority of deviants and nearly all humans to be beneath her contempt, taking a variant on 'survival of the fittest' as a motto.

A veteran of the school of hard knocks, she is used to being reviled or viewed with suspicion.  Her heart has been broken, and she still obsesses over her former lover Samantha Grey, and ways to get back at her for having cheated on her repeatedly, despite Samantha's protestations that she would not survive prolonged sexual contact with her repeatedly.  She feels spurned and despised by all, and although she has not taken up an overtly anarchistic attitude towards her life, she sees no value in respecting the rights of others, as hers are not respected.

Personality and History:
Emotionally tortured by her mother's insane ravings of religious zealotry, Genevieve grew up knowing only her single parent's hatred and loathing of her as 'satanic spawn.'  Her father was a briefly seen and distant figure in old photographs, someone her mother spoke ill of and who she was convinced hated the fact that she was born shortly before he died.  She never knew the comfort of another's love for most of her life and was kept far from other's eyes.  When her mother died of contact with Genevieve's poisons, she was so long tortured by the woman that she couldn't bring herself to feel remorse for her death, much less the death of anyone else.

Omega's influence gave her the experience of being the top-dog, of being in charge.  She was still too afraid of people to reveal her true face and hid behind an elaborate serpentine costume and the glow of dark energy brimming from herself.  Countless people who had hurt her in her life died by her hands, succumbing to her poisons as she enjoyed the freedom of knowing none could oppose her, that none would call her a monster ever again... or at least live.

When Omega fell, she fled and hid from the heroes who lashed against him and escaped reprisal or even detection by being lost in the midst of the Omega Wave.  When she returned to the distrust of deviants in the later era, she felt no shock at the whole change in tone and simply went to ground in an effort to just forget her past.  She still could not bring herself to feel any real remorse for what had happened.  She had been tormented for almost all of her life and still felt considerable bitterness over the way that others reacted to her.  Thankfully, she didn't need to concern herself overmuch with her own wellfare.  At her eighteenth birthday, her identity was successfully determined and it was proven that her mother had no living heirs of any variety.  The miser's considerable fortune was relegated without a detailed will to Genevieve in the form of a modest but sufficient living trust.

What changed for Genevieve that caused her to break with her past was survival instincts.  There was no remorse for her past, no egalitarian love for humanity.  In truth, she hated most people.  However, she had come to see that other possibilities were there through Omega.  It was true that the sort of global domination he had attempted wasn't viable, but the world didn't have to hate her, and she didn't have to be considered a monster.  She had a choice.  Lurk in the shadows like some filthy little monster waiting to prey upon those weaker than herself, or be 'better' than them all.  And oh how that made her smile, the idea of somehow becoming at least on the surface more selfless, kind and protective than the people who thought her scum.  She began to relish the irony of saving people who didn't deserve her protection.

She even briefly thought about the Thunder Force tryouts.  Fearing the possibility that they would detect something about her that would link her to the Omega War, she didn't actually go through with it.  However, while she was there, she came into contact with someone who did, Samantha Grey.  The red-head came into contact with Genevieve on accident but showed no ill effects of the poison other than a bit of pain that she seemed to largely ignore.  The half-demon's recuperative abilities were more powerful than those toxins, making it possible for her to maintain contact.  The temptation of that contact overwhelmed her and she almost tried to muscle Samantha into bed in desperation.  Blessedly, Samantha wasn't bothered by it, though she made clear that any such relationship was not permanent or exclusive.  It didn't matter to her, she realized in that contact that she didn't need to be alone anymore.  And with that thought, she began to focus her attentions on becoming more part of the Deviant world, hoping to find still others who could remain close to her safely.

She took on herself the nom de guerre "Water Moccasin" and hoped for the best, above all hoping that none ever remembered her time as a villainess.

Post-AFL 3000:  In the aftermath of the AFL fighting tournament, Genevieve finally confronted her lover Samantha over numerous adulterous relationships and stormed off, breaking the relationship and privately vowing vengeance.  Though she was not seen for the better part of a year afterwards, the girl was not brooding, but instead training and making contact with various criminal organizations with international interests.  After a few successful contract killings, she established a name for herself as "Adder" and began her re-invented career as a gun for hire, using the money to get access to better equipment and all the money she required for her lifestyle and wishes.

To date, she has not been discovered because of her skills in B&E and her poison's usual dissolution.  However, Interpol, the Thunder Force, and other similar organizations have been keeping tabs on a string of new contract killings not associated with known assassins.

So let me get this straight:  She was in a fight with a guy weilding a chainsaw and riding a flying wingless unicorn.  She kills the unicorn and repurposed the horn to use as a melee weapon against the chainsaw.  Afterwards, she keeps the unicorn horn as her main melee weapon.  Is that correct?  If so it is completely awesome!  Does the unicorn horn contain healing properties? :)
